Competition for best wrap
Award-winning chef, Peter Gordon, has teamed up with Discovery and Santa Maria in a hunt for the UK’s most inspired creator of Gourmet Wraps.
The successful co-owner of The Providores and Tapa Room and recently opened Kopapa is heading up the nationwide search and asking chefs across the country to develop a fusion-inspired Gourmet Wrap recipe using the innovative more. by Santa Maria range. Peter has created five recipes to provide added inspiration around the launch of Santa Maria’s Gourmet Wraps concept, which showcases a spread of 14 menu ideas – each featuring a blend of spices in soft flour tortillas.
The competition, in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs, will award the winner the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills during a masterclass with Peter Gordon at Kopapa in London’s Covent Garden. The prize also includes a visit to Santa Maria’s new Innovation Centre and Spices Factory in Sweden, where the winning chef will be invited to develop their very own signature spice blend. As an added bonus, they will also receive a complimentary 12-month membership of the Craft Guild of Chefs.
Five runners-up will each receive a Gourmet Wraps gift box containing a recipe brochure with innovative menu solutions, including chicken, avocado and mango quesadillas dusted with Smoked Paprika; and Triple Peppered goats’ cheese wrap with red peppers, rocket and fresh pesto. Completing the gift box is a mixed case of six more. by Santa Maria spices, including Pasta Basilico and Orange Pepper, as well as a signed recipe book by chef Marcus Samelsson.

So when they do dine out, they are looking for something extra special – high quality, good value food that provides more adventurous and exciting flavours than those achieved within the home. That’s what we’re looking for from our Gourmet Wraps competition.”
