Warning: cost of beef likely to rise
With the Brazilian beef industry experiencing difficult times, you can expect the fallout to hit UK prices fairly soon.
The main factors behind the cattle shortages are: a serious drought earlier in the year; large quantities of breeding cows being sent to slaughter over the past two years as farmers switch to crops for better returns; lack of replacement cattle; and an uncertain exchange rate going forward.
