          New Asian concept

          arrives in London

          Launching this month (August) in London’s West
          End, P.F. Chang’s Asian Table restaurant will be
          bringing to the capital a new take on Asian food
          and cocktails.
            The 138 seat all-day restaurant and bar will offer
          brunch with a difference (combining traditional brunch
          dishes with an Asian kick), while post-brunch food
          options will comprise both smaller and larger plates
          featuring dishes such as Mongolian Beef (a soy glazed
          flank steak wok seared with spring onions and garlic)
          and Fish & Lotus ‘Chips’ (crispy black cod tossed with
          spring onion, ginger and fermented black bean with a
          side of lotus chips).
            In addition, the Asian-inspired cocktail menu and
          lab promises creations such as the Fizu (sparkling
          sake, cucumber and lemon oil), the Melrose Mary (a
          brunch cocktail with Tequila, umeshu, tomato, spice
          and pickled pineapple) and Witchcraig Sour (combining
          Bourbon, kimchee distillate, lemon and clay).

        While many people are used to the idea of supermarkets reducing their
        fresh produce at the end of the day, restaurants and cafés are starting
        to adopt the same strategy to help tackle the UK’s problem with food
        waste, which is estimated at £13 billion annually.
          Newcastle-based catering company Fresh Element has strengthened its
        stance on sustainability by being among the first in the North East to sign
        up to Too Good To Go - an environmental social enterprise whose app links
        users to local restaurants, cafés and bakeries offering heavily discounted
        food that would otherwise be thrown away.
          Peter Hunt, co-founder of Fresh Element, said: “One of the problems
        facing the catering industry has always been wastage. Too Good To Go
        provides us with the ideal solution. Instead of wasting good food we
        can make local users aware of the discounts on offer through the app
        and reduce the fresh goods that are left over at the end of the day, while
        customers get delicious, fresh food at a bargain price.”
          Too Good To Go has over 1.2 million users worldwide and can be
        downloaded on iOS and Android devices.
