British Cheese Week — 27 Sep - 5 Oct
Another speciality week giving you another opportunity to benefit from a nationwide campaign, which – in this case – will be promoting the wonderful variety of British cheeses.
Back in 1994 cheese expert Juliet Harbutt founded the British Cheese Awards to raise the profile of British cheese. In 2000 the annual Great British Cheese Festival was launched specifically to educate and inspire the consumer. Today these events have become a highly successful marketing campaign for British cheese, cheesemakers and cheese retailers.
This year’s winners of the British Cheese Awards will be announced on 26 September at the Great British Cheese Festival held at Cardiff Castle. The subsequent Cheese Week is designed to highlight these winners and give anyone who works with cheese – including, of course, caterers – the opportunity to join in by running events, creating special dishes or simply by including winning cheeses on their cheese platters.
