Stuff the turkey – it’s Christmas dinner in a cake
Surely this must be the ultimate festive cake comprising as it does all the trimmings – carrots, parsnips, cranberries, Christmas spices, chestnuts and of course sprouts – usually found accompanying turkey at this time of year.
This Christmas Dinner Cake was baked exclusively for Weeton’s of Harrogate by its multi-award winning cake supplier Allison Whitmarsh, of Proper Maid in Huddersfield. “We all know that vegetables are great in cakes but who knew you could get an entire Christmas dinner in there,” commented cake connoisseur Allison. “While the cake was baking there was a definite whiff of sprouts, but the end result is absolutely delicious – Christmas dinner never tasted so good!”
This festive fancy will be available at Weeton’s café throughout December. If you can’t get to Weeton’s (23/24 West Park, Harrogate, HG1 1BJ) but want to try it yourself, follow the link below for the recipe. Thanks Allison.
