About

Launched in November 2007 by wholesale giant Bestway with a circulation of 50,000 copies Essentially Catering Magazine quickly established itself as the widest circulated business-to-business title serving the UK's diverse catering industry. As a feature-based quarterly magazine, Essentially Catering Magazine became an essential read for the industry as a whole, including the growing number of Bestway and Batleys' catering customers across myriad foodservice establishments.

However, seismic developments in technology since Essentially Catering Magazine's launch in 2007 are reflected in how more and more of us choose to consume today's media. Consequently, in keeping with our valued readers' changing needs and expectations, Essentially Catering Magazine has evolved to become a monthly online rather than quarterly printed title.

NEW online magazine from February 2014

Extensive research with our customer base has highlighted that, while readers value and respect Essentially Catering Magazine, they now want a more frequent title that not only includes increased coverage of up-to-the minute news and information but also retains the popular features, reviews, recipes and seasonal suggestions of before.

Readers also wanted a publication that offered them greater interactivity with the opportunity to view whenever and wherever they choose.

The new, FREE online Essentially Catering Magazine will be sent monthly to all our readers via email.

Essentially Catering Magazine covers all catering sectors including pubs & bars, hotels, restaurants, takeaways (including Indian, Chinese, Italian etc), cafés & sandwich shops, fish & chip shops, mobile & event caterers, kebab, chicken and fast food outlets, health & sports clubs, healthcare, care homes & nursing homes and education.

History

Founded in 1976, the Bestway Group is the largest independently owned wholesale cash and carry operator in the UK. The Group acquired Batleys plc in January 2005 for £100 million, and Bellevue and Martex in 2010. Now the Cash & Carry Group's annual turnover is in excess of £2.2 billion, enjoying 17% of the market share. The Group trades from 62 warehouses and one distribution centre, offering over 5.6 million square feet of selling space, a product range of over 15,000 items and serving 100,000 independent caterers and retailers, many of whom provide 24 hour service to various communities throughout the country. The Group provides employment to over 4500 people in the UK.
